Under the authority of his onshore & offshore supervisors, he participates actively to lifting operations and is responsible for
the management of the rigging & lifting equipment that is used during hoses operations.
In addition, he is responsible:
– for the safe and efficient operation and general maintenance (level 1) of the various rigging / lifting equipment;
– for safety and efficiently rigging/lifting and moving/relocating equipment, hoses, containers during offloading hose
maintenance.

JOB DESCRIPTION
– Performs all duties as requested by his supervisor in his/her field of competency according to the work progress;
– Prepares and verify materials, tools and equipment needed for lifting operations;
– Is responsible for setting up all the pulleys and cable systems that are used for lifting operations;
– Assists the team in maintenance (dismantling, assembly) of the offloading hose string;
– Assists in movement of rigging equipment and cargo by calculating the size and type of sling required for a particular lift,
selecting the slings to lift the load, attaching the slings to the load and assisting in controlling the load as it is lifted by a
crane;
– Select pulleys or blocks used for lifts, tie knots to secure cargo and maintain rope as required;
– Secures all slings and ropes and store them as required;
– Supervises the safe slinging and rigging of equipment;
– Guarantees lifting equipment are properly used and maintained;
– Controls and manages all the movements of the hose handling activity;
– Communicates with the Crane Operator to guide him/her when moving hoses and depositing them in the correct
location. This can involve hand signals, radio operation or other communication:
– Performs lifting equipment maintenance (1st level):
– Participates to lifting equipment maintenance activities above first level:
– Recovers data to perform activity and maintenance reports:
– Cleans and stores tools and equipment at the end of operations:
– Monitors and assesses work environment, including weather conditions;
– Is entitled to stop any lifting operations for safety reasons (weather conditions, etc…).

– He participates in all safety meetings, including weekly, pre-tour and pre-job/toolbox meetings.

Reports to Management any issue he may face or observe and propose way of improvement.

Education:
– Minimum three (3) years’experience in marine or lifting operations is required;
– Certified in rigging and lifting operations;
– Floating Line Hydrostatic Pressure test Training & certificate (as per OCIMF SMOG 3rd ed 2015;
– Integrated Flange Tightening Training & certificate (as per guidelines for boundary bolted flange joint assembly);
– Understand spoken information;
– Read and understand work-related equipment;
– Technical knowledge of lifting equipment (cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, slings, etc.);
– Exhaustive knowledge of International lifting standards and best practices (EN, FME, ISO, etc.);
– Ability to perform risk analysis, Rigging & lifting plan;
– Coordination – Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions;
– Good writing skills (issuance of reports, audits, synthesis);
– Ability to demonstrate a high level of alertness and concentration;
– Operations monitoring (watching gauges, dials or other indicators).
