TASKS/ACTIVITIES
The role of the Traffic Control Operator is to:

Control the vessel traffic on the whole field (block17 / 32) and its surrounding on a 24/7 basis.
–
Provide reliable communications between the FPSO and:

Other vessels / FPSO
▪
Helicopter traffic

Use all electronics detection means put at his disposal (Radar, AIS, ECDIS, Signalis, CCTV, etc…) to monitor/record the Marine Restricted Area vessel’s entry.
JOB DESCRIPTION
–
He performs all radio communications and maintains continuous proper look-out by hearing, using GMDSS equipment Maintain continuous vessel traffic and ISPS watch using RADAR, AIS and SIGNALIS systems and issues event report in case of vessel intrusion.
–
He updates vessel database of entry permits and maintains a record.
–
He Implements vessel routing as instructed by OLC. (As soon as vessel left Luanda)
–
Broadcast Marine Information and alert on VHF, as tanker arrival message/weather alert/specific marine activity, etc..
–
He acts as OLC during night time following Offshore Logistic Coordinator instructions
–
He carry out the daily communication with chopper and surfer for block 17 passengers transfer.
–
He maintains continuous watch on radio BLU/VHF and phone
–
He takes on a support role in emergency situations: emergency radio communications and communication log keeping.
–
He monitors the weather and sea conditions and informs the helico Pilot of any changes which may impact the marine and aeronautical operations.

Act as a backup Boatlanding officer in the absence of night shift radio operation
–
He maintains records:
▪
Radio communications.
▪
MSA, MRA and 500m zone vessel’s entries.
▪
Marine and aeronautic activities.
▪
ISPS events.
