TASKS/ACTIVITIES:
The pumpman’s activities cover:
The cargo oil tank, ballast tanks, void space, cofferdam and associated equipment (inside and outside the capacities)
The deck marine equipment (winches, capstan, tandem mooring equipment, etc…)
As per Loading Master’s instructions, his tasks are, but not limited to:
Preparation and operation of the equipment
Handling of the equipment.
1st level Maintenance of the equipment.
Identification and report of breakdowns, anomalies and faults of the equipment.
He assists and reports to Loading Master.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Commercial operations
He prepares the tank before loading.
He prepares the tank before and after offloading.
He carries out tank surveys before and after offloading (water contents, cargo inspection with cargo surveyor).
He monitors the loading/offloading operations on deck.
He carries out crude oil washing operation under supervision of the Loading Master
He prepares and participates to slop water management operations as per Loading Master’s instructions.
He checks the FPSO capacities content on a weekly basis (ballast tanks, peaks, cofferdams, chain lockers and void spaces).
Maintenance:
He performs 1st level maintenance, cargo/ballast/cofferdam/void spaces of the marine equipment (hatches, UTI, samplers, fans, lights).
He assists the Loading Master for preparing tanks, ballast cofferdam void space entry.
He prepares the equipment required for the tank’s entry (portable fans, ventilation shafts, portable brackets, lights, winches and handling equipment).
He participates to capacities 1st entry upon Loading Master request.
He is responsible for control, maintenance and requesting the Loading Master the marine tools, equipment, spares and consumables.
He acts as Boat Landing Officer when required.
He assists as extra-hand during cleaning operations on deck as required.
